CRABTREE NEWS

It may be his busiest time but Santa Claus took time out to visit the boys and girls of Crabtree to give them a special gift.

Santa arrived at school at 9:00 am to meet with our Parents Group to hear about what fantastic children we have here at Crabtree Farm and Santa decided he would give them an early Christmas present to reward them for their extra effort.

We would like to thank Santa for spending the day with us and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Today we had to say a sad goodbye to Miss Jackson.  Miss Jackson joined us in 2014 and fast became a popular member of the Crabtree team amongst pupils and colleagues alike.

Miss Jackson leaves us to fulfil a life long dream of travelling and we are sure you will join us in wishing her well for the future.

Good luck Miss Jackson from everyone at Crabtree!

Today we had to say a sad goodbye to Mrs Mackenzie who is leaving us to return home to Australia.  Mrs Mackenzie has only been with us a short time but she soon became a valued member of our Keystage 1 team.

We wish Mrs Mackenzie all the best for the future.

Tonight we took part in the Big Sing, performing with lots of other schools and people. Our 'Area Band' members played guitar as part of a huge orchestra and our choir performed the song 'If Every Child', which they had been learning as part of the Music Hub service.

The night was a fantastic success with the children finally getting to show what they had been learning to a huge crowd (including a few parents.) The staff were extremely impressed with the event and were proud of the children who took part.

The Christmas spirit arrived a day early at Crabtree Farm Primary School when we took over 300 children to see Aladdin at the Nottingham Playhouse.

This is the first time we have taken that many children out on a school visit and it took an impressive six buses for us to reach our destination.

We would like say a huge thankyou to Mrs Cullen for her hard work behind the scenes

making the visit possible and everyone at the Playhouse for making us all laugh. We are already looking forward to Cinderella next year!

When Chris Tilley our Tesco Community Champion and School Governor invited us down to help collect food for our local Foodbank we jumped at the chance to help support such a worthwhile organisation.

Four members of our School Council went down to Tesco and handed out leaflets asking people if they could make a donation to people less fortunate than themselves.

We were really pleased with the amount of donations we managed to collect during our time in store and would like to thank each and every person who came to speak to us about the fantastic work the Foodbank does.

To say thank you Chris gave our pupils a big bag of Celebrations and congratulated them on their hard work.
