Our Green Team are delighted to announce that on the 22nd of November 2017 they planted the first tree that will make up the Crabtree Farm orchard.  The children, complete with gardening tools and wellies, really enjoyed getting their hands dirty!

They were joined by Matt Youdale from Arch Communications who has kindly donated the money to help us expand our orchard and develop a new forage trail. We will invite Mr Youdale back to school once the orchard has become established to help us harvest our first crop.

On Tuesday the 14th of November Miss Harper's Class 12 made the short walk to Tesco Extra in Bulwell to take part in their successful Farm to Fork scheme.  Whilst in store the children learnt about sustainability and got to make their very own yogurt with fresh bananas.

On behalf of Miss Harper and Class 12 we would like to say a massive thank you to Chris Tilley and the staff of Tesco who always make us feel welcome whenever we are in store.

On the 10th of November we remembered the brave soldiers who fought for your country when we all came together on the playground for a Service of Remembrance.  The children listened to readings from our Year Six pupils, a moving version of The Last Post by a Crabtree Star on his cornet; before falling silent at 11:00 am for a moments silence.

This time of reflection was followed by an emotive performance by our Choir who sang the very fitting 'We Will Remember'.

Today was a very exciting day for our Cosmic Comets who went on an adventure to meet their new friend Roj at the 'Build a Bear Workshop' in Nottingham's Victoria Centre.

Roj is now their Class bear and throughout the year all children will have the opportunity to take Roj home along with a book to read with you at bedtime and a diary to write in.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who braved the wet conditions to attend our Fireworks Night last night.  Despite the rain, Crabtree came out in force and made our community event a great success.

Now in its third year, this years event was the biggest we have ever held with more amazing things to see and do than ever before!  It would not be the same without the fantastic DJ Binz UK, the stallholders and fairground rides so we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for the part they played in the night's success.

The Fireworks Night really is a community event and we would like to thank Crabtree Farm Community Centre for once again offering their support. We also must thank our amazing Parents' Group who worked tirelessly to make the whole event happen, their dedication is nothing short of amazing!
