It has been brought to my attention that people are bringing their dogs on to school grounds. Can I remind you that school has a no dogs policy. Whether your dog is walking or being carried it is not permitted on school grounds. The only exception are guide dogs.
Our annual Harvest Festival is being held at St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday 17th October 2018. The children in Classes 1 to 12 will be taking part and we are inviting everyone to come and join in.
The children will leave school at 10:30am. They will need to wear a coat and sensible footwear. If you wish to join us please meet us at the church for 11:00am.
We would also appreciate any donations of tins, packets of food or toiletries. Please DO NOT send in fresh produce. We are sending all the donations to the Framework Charity that provides services for the homeless. Please bring any donations to school by Tuesday 16th October 2018.
If you do not wish for your child to attend please could you inform their class teacher in writing, by Monday 15th October 2018.
We are once again holding a 'Kids' Bake Off' competition as part of our 'Macmillan Coffee Day'. Any child that wants to enter will need to bring their cake/cupcakes/biscuits to the KS1 hall on the morning of Friday 28th September.
All entries will be displayed for people to see and will be judged by our 'guest judges'. These cakes will then be sold in the afternoon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We look forward to seeing the results of peoples fantastic baking efforts next week!
On Friday 28th September we are joining with many others around the UK to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Last year we raised an impressive £1,628 and altogether we have raised an amazing £7,795 since 2012 for this good cause.
We are hoping to beat last years total so please come and join us for a cake and a coffee.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the teachers that came into school over the summer holidays and watered the vegetables in the biodome and the surrounding planters.
A special thank you needs to go to the Blyth family! They also came into school in the holidays and took care of our flowers and vegetables. Our Green Team captain even worked in the biodome on his birthday! This is yet another sign of his commitment towards the Green Team.
The family also used the courgettes that they harvested from school to make a delicious spaghetti bolognaise!
You are invited to a ‘Meet the Teacher Event’ on Thursday 13th September 2018 at 3:30 after school in the upper hall. This will be a chance to meet the whole Year 5 Team and go through a short presentation on Year 5 expectations, upcoming trips and visits, SAT’s preparation and more. It is also a chance to talk to any of the teaching staff about any concerns or worries and ask questions related to school life.
The ICT room will be open for the children to wait for you with a member of the team.
