CRABTREE NEWS

November 28, 2018

Today our fantastic team of Christmas tree specialists assembled and, with a little bit of help from Mrs Round and Mrs Marshall, set off to Sherwood Forest to choose two Christmas trees that will take pride of place in our school.  We are sure you are aware that choosing a Christmas tree is no easy task, but our specialists had been specifically chosen for this mission by their teachers and were up for this most festive of challenges.

Whilst in the forest, the children received a letter from Santa Claus who required their help with finding his lost reindeer. This was a very demanding mission, but we are relieved to say that the children managed to find the missing animals - which means Santa will still be able to carry out what we believe is his extremely vital work on Christmas Eve.  Phew!

We’d like to thank our Christmas tree specialists for selecting two great Christmas trees and for ensuring that Crabtree saved Christmas.

Well done!

At Crabtree Farm we take pride in supporting many charities, so when Pudsey Bear sent out the call for people to do their thing for Children in Need we simply couldn’t resist.  On Friday the 16th of November we abandoned our normal school uniform and dressed in  bright coloured clothes to raise money for disadvantaged children across the UK.

We are delighted to announce that all together weraised an amazing £374 pounds for this good cause. Well done Crabtree!

Our stay and read sessions will begin this Thursday 22nd November from 8:50 am -9:10 am and every Thursday after that wherever possible.  You will be able to go with your child to their classroom along with the rest of the class when the doors open at 8:50 am.  Younger siblings are also very welcome.  At the end of the session you will need to leave school via the front door at reception.

We look forward to seeing you all.

The Year 1 & 2 Team

November 12, 2018

We would like to invite children to partake in a non-uniform day on Friday 16th November in awareness of Children in Need. There will not be a donation required to partake!

However, we will be selling some yummy biscuits at playtime for 20p each and also ask for random donations in 1p and 2p’s (We plan to make a large Pudsey Bear face on the playground with the copper change).

Our theme is “Bright Colours” so pupils can dress in their favourite brightly coloured tops/jumpers/dresses etc and can also wear Children in Need accessories (such as Pudsey ears!).

Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely

Lorna Haskey

Acting Head Teacher
