The government allocated all schools funding to improve the provision of PE and sport to benefit pupils aged 5-11 years old to promote healthy lifestyles.

PE SPORTS GRANT

Crabtree Farm Primary received £19,475 Primary Sports Funding and this enabled us to employ two sports professionals who provide much needed support to individual children in afternoon sessions, run our successful sporting clubs and supervise sporting activities during the lunch time period.

We believe that playing any kind of sport is highly beneficial and we hope that we are able to instil in pupils a commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle that will remain with them throughout their adult life.

Swimming

By the end of KS2 65% of the children were able to swim 25 metres or more.  This is an increase of over 50% on the previous year.

Every child swam at least 10 metres, 30% swam over 100 metres and some swam as far as a kilometre.  This is due to the fact that the number of lessons and time in the pool has been increased.
