Working to Support the Foodbank
On Wednesday the 8th of February, our School Council were warmly welcomed by the Sheriff of Nottingham to be presented with certificates for their efforts in supporting the Foodbank.
Before Christmas our Year 5 School Councillors worked in Tesco in Bulwell with our School Governor Chris Tilley in collecting as much food as possible to support those who are sometimes unable to buy food for themselves or their families.
Crabtree Farm Primary have been supporting this valuable cause in one way or another for the last 4 years by collecting food in school or by working on the collection with the support of the staff from Tesco itself.
Chris Tilley (Community Champion and School Governor) along with his manager awarded the certificates with the Sheriff at a special tea party organised and held at the Nottingham City Council House in one of the private rooms. The councillors were treated to drinks, biscuits and lots of conversation about the history of civic responsibility and the Foodbank itself.
In the last term of this year, we are hoping to take more school councillors to the Foodbank shop itself to see the amazing work that is ongoing there. We will always make ourselves available to the Foodbank for support.
See our website and School Council notice board for more information about the Foodbank and how you can get help and support if you ever need it or ask Miss Harper and the office team for more details on how to access the service if you ever need to.
Well done, School Council and Crabtree Farm for all your efforts to support such a worthy cause.
