Our Commitment to Inclusion
At Crabtree Farm, we believe every child should feel safe, valued and supported to achieve their best. We are an inclusive school and work closely with children, parents and carers to remove barriers to learning and help all pupils succeed.
High-quality teaching is adapted effectively so pupils with SEN make positive progress from their starting points. Staff know pupils well and provide support that helps children to feel confident, settled and ready to learn.

How We Support Children with SEND
At our school, we use a graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) to make sure every child gets the right support at the right time.

Universal Support – All Learners
-
High‑quality teaching (HQT) for all children
-
Inclusive classroom strategies used every day
-
No formal SEND support plan needed
Universal + Support – Some Learners
-
Additional, short‑term support where needed
-
Small adjustments or interventions alongside normal teaching
-
An optional SEND support plan may be used
Targeted Support – A Few Learners
-
A SEND support plan is in place
-
Support may include targeted interventions, specialist input, or some extra funding
-
Needs are met without requiring an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Specialist Support – Very Few Learners
-
An EHCP is in place
-
Support is more tailored and may involve multiple professionals
-
Funding and provision are matched closely to the child’s individual needs
The Treehouse - Enchanced Provision
The Treehouse provides a calm, structured and nurturing environment for pupils who benefit from additional support with learning, communication and emotional wellbeing.
Children attending The Treehouse receive carefully planned small-group or individual support, help to regulate emotions, develop communication, social skills, and consistent routines with sensory-friendly strategies.
This provision supports pupils to develop independence and resilience, enabling them to engage successfully with learning.

Working in Partnership with Parents and Carers
We value strong partnerships with parents and carers and believe working together leads to the best outcomes for children. Parents are always involved in discussions about their child’s support.
As always, there is an open-door policy to discuss your child’s special educational needs and how, as a school, we can support your child’s learning. The first point of contact to discuss your child’s needs should be the class teacher.

Our SEN provision is overseen by our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). Mrs Andrews is the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and is assisted by Mrs Robinson. They both have many years experience teaching children with a wide range of learning abilities and needs.
Mrs Andrews and Mrs Robinson work with staff across school to make sure that there is a holistic approach to meeting the needs of all children. Every child is valued for their individual abilities and talents in all areas, and these are celebrated across school.
Mrs Andrews and Mrs Robinson are available by phone if you want to pass on any specific information about your child or if you would like a longer appointment this can be made through the school office. In addition you can contact the SENCO via email.
