Please note that your child’s class will now be swimming twice a week on the days given below in the table.

Swimming starts on Monday 2nd November 2020

Children are not allowed to wear earrings for swimming.

Please note boys must wear swimming trunks, not baggy swim shorts. Girls must not wear two-piece swimming costumes.

Swimming is part of the curriculum and every child must take part. Due to Covid restrictions, children will need to come to school on their swimming days ‘beach ready’. This means that they must have their swimming kit under their school uniform and bring a bag containing their towel and underwear. Please ensure that the bag is big enough to store their school clothing while they swim.

Please be informed that if the swimming time finishes at 3pm, the children will not return to school until around 3:30pm. To make the changing process quicker, it is advised that girls wear trousers rather than skirts and tights.

Dear Parent/Carer,

On Monday 30th November, Year 4 will be visited by Partake Theatre Company. The day will include workshops for the children about the Egyptians, which we will be learning about next half term.

The children will be given the opportunity to;

· investigate Egyptian artefacts used in mummification,

· discover the clothing and makeup of an Egyptian princess,

· see what traditional Egyptian costumes looked like.

It will be a fun day for the children and will consolidate their knowledge about the topic.

Partake Theatre Company are taking lots of steps to ensure the safety of all children during these current circumstances. This includes staying 2 metres away from children at all times, disinfecting and isolating any equipment for 48 hours before bringing it into our school and isolating from school staff at break and lunch times.

The cost for this day is £9.20, which is being subsidised by school. The cost for your child to participate is £5. Please use the School Gateway app to pay your £5 contribution by Friday 27th November. By paying the £5 contribution, this confirms your consent for your child to participate. If there are not enough contributions, then the experience may be cancelled.

Yours sincerely,

The Year 4 Team

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Wednesday 25th November a photographer will be visiting the school to take individual photographs. Due to social distancing, we will not be taking family/group photos at this time.

Children will need to be in full school uniform.

Please log onto the school gateway app to return your photograph consent form. If we do not receive consent, your child will not have a photo taken.

As soon as the proofs are received from the photographer they will be given out. Orders will need to be returned to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible as we hope to give photographs to you before Christmas.

Please ensure you enclose the correct money as we are a cashless school, and cannot give any change. The money will go directly to the photography company.

Yours sincerely

Lorna Haskey
